‘There are a whole bunch of people in the Democratic Party who have been busting their asses…’
(Kaylee McGhee, Liberty Headlines) Whoopi Goldberg, one of the leftist co-hosts of “The View,” blasted freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., saying that the self-proclaimed democratic socialist has to actually “do something” in office before she can “start pooping on people and what they’ve done.”
“[Ocasio-Cortez is] very opinionated, which we like. We like opinionated women,” Goldberg said on Monday’s program. “But it is very, very difficult when people make accusations where you say, you know, the Democrats have done nothing, the establishment of the Democrats have done nothing.”
“And I just want to throw this out to you,” Goldberg continued. “[Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga.,] wasn’t sitting still. [Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.,] wasn’t sitting still. There are a whole bunch of people in the Democratic Party who have been busting their asses to make sure that women get what they need, people get what they need, children get what they need.”
Ocasio-Cortez is one of many newly-elected radical leftists that have vowed to overthrow the establishment Democratic Party and bring in new, younger ideas.
In an interview with “60 Minutes” aired on Sunday night, Ocasio-Cortez recognized that unseating incumbent Democrats is a “politically dangerous” tactic.
“It’s absolutely risky. It requires risk to try something new, but also we-we know so much of what we’ve tried in the past hasn’t worked, either,” Ocasio-Cortez said.
Goldberg encouraged Ocasio-Cortez to stay out of the national headlines and “learn the job” before she begins lecturing career politicians.
“You just got in there, and I know you got lots of good ideas, but I would encourage you to sit still for a minute and learn the job. There are people in that party who have been working their tails off for this country. You could learn some stuff from them,” Goldberg said.
“You don’t have to be born into it,” Goldberg continued. “You don’t have to know it when you step out. But before you start pooping on people and what they’ve done, you got to do something too.”
