Democrat Wisc. Gov. Lies as He Pulls National Guard from Border

Tony Evers contends there is no justification, just as Guard troops help nab dozens of illegal border crossers…

(Joshua Paladino, Liberty Headlines) Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers, a Democrat, pulled the Wisconsin National Guard from the U.S.-Mexico border on Monday, claiming President Donald Trump gave “no justification” for their presence or for the national emergency declaration.

Evers reversed an executive order issued by former Gov. Scott Walker, a Republican, and withdrew Wisconsin’s 112 soldiers and airmen from the Arizona border, The Huffington Post reported.

Meanwhile, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said the National Guard, in a mission called Operation Guardian Support, is helping to secure the southern border.

Last weekend, National Guard helicopter crews assisted in the apprehension of 75 illegal aliens near Tucson, Arizona, CBP reported.

The National Guard used UH-72 Lakota and UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters to locate 10 different illegal alien groups composed of people wearing camouflage clothing to avoid detection and arrest.

“[Operation Guardian Support] personnel continue to serve as a valuable assets in the Border Patrol’s security mission,” CBP said in a press release. “The National Guard provides assistance in multiple areas such as aerial support, road maintenance, fleet repair, camera surveillance, and infrastructure construction and repair.”

Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wisconsin, disavowed Evers’s decision to remove National Guard soldiers from the border.

“Securing our borders is a top priority of our nation, and I’m proud of Wisconsin’s National Guard for playing a valued role,” Johnson said in a press release. “It’s unfortunate Governor Evers doesn’t agree, and has decided to withdraw them from their important mission.”
