‘If he’s not worth it, who would ever be?’
(Kaylee McGhee, Liberty Headlines) Billionaire leftist Tom Steyer took to Twitter on Monday to slam House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., over her recent statement that pursuing impeachment against President Donald Trump was not worth the backlash.
“He’s just not worth it?”
Is defending our legal system “worth it?”
Is holding the President accountable “worth it?”
Is doing what’s right “worth it?”
Or shall America just stop fighting for our principles and do what’s politically convenient?https://t.co/dQqTMpccnZ

Since assuming the speakership in January, Pelosi has said that clear evidence and bipartisan support were needed for impeachment, despite the persistent efforts of Democratic colleagues and her own personal misgivings about Trump’s fitness for office.
She reiterated her position in an interview last week with The Washington Post, in which she said unequivocally that—for now, at least—she did not support efforts to oust the president.
“Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don’t think we should go down that path, because it divides the country,” Pelosi said. “And he’s just not worth it.”
Despite nearly two years of investigation, so far no evidence has been presented publicly that would implicate Trump in any high crimes and misdemeanors necessary to meet the bar for Congressional charges.
However, House Democrats overseeing powerful committees, including Judiciary Chair Jerrold Nadler and Intelligence Chair Adam Schiff, plan to continue investigating, regardless of the findings in the long-awaited report by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
Steyer—a former hedge-fund investor and potential 2020 candidate who lives in Pelosi’s home district of San Francisco—has led the call for Trump’s impeachment, pouring millions of dollars into the thus-far unsuccessful effort to remove the president from office.
Last month, Steyer threatened to go after Democrats who didn’t support impeachment, pledging to use his resources to get them removed.
“There’s a gigantic cost to not listening to your constituents,” he told Politico. “There’s a gigantic cost to thumbing your nose at democracy.”
Steyer said Pelosi’s position is weak and called on congressional Democrats to stand up and fight for Trump’s removal.
“If we have a president who by admission is not ethically, intellectually, or politically fit for his job, it is your DUTY to impeach him. Full stop,” Steyer’s impeachment campaign, The Need to Impeach, wrote on Twitter. “If he’s not worth it, who ever would be?”
