Has called president a “racist,” “creep” and “conman”…
(Daily Caller News Foundation) A theater group founded by comedian Rosie O’Donnell is still receiving money from the Trump administration, regardless of O’Donnell’s disdain for the president.
O’Donnell’s Theater Kids received a total of $80,000 from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) since Trump has entered office, reported The Washington Free Beacon.
A list of past NEA grants reveals the group gave Rosie’s Theater Kids $30,000 for the 2018 fiscal year, while the nonprofit theater organization received another $50,000 for the 2017 fiscal year.
The 2018 grant is going towards payment for a summer and after-school program for children.
The grant documents says:
Professional teaching artists from Broadway will lead the program for ethnically diverse, middle and high school students from low-income families.
During the summer program and the afternoon and weekend classes throughout the school year, students will study traditional skill-building curricula in dance, drama, and music as core disciplines necessary for participation in musical theater.
Sessions will culminate in final public performances.
O’Donnell and President Donald Trump have feuded in the past, with Trump calling her a “total loser” and O’Donnell wondering if the country would be able to survive Trump’s administration.
“I seriously worry whether I personally will be able to live through [his presidency] and whether the nation will be able to live through it and survive,” she said in an October interview.
O’Donnell also called Trump a “racist,” “creep” and “conman” in tweets about her dislike of the president.
