(Joshua Paladino, Liberty Headlines) Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX), a former lawyer and judge, said the real collusion is not between President Donald Trump and Russia, but between Special Counsel Robert Mueller and former FBI Director James Comey.
“Even Speaker Ryan continued to say, ‘oh no, he’ll be fair.’ Well there are dramatic examples of how unfair [Mueller] has been. Comey testified that he ran things by Mueller to see what he thought. These guys have colluded up to their eyeballs,” Gohmert said on The Brian Kilmeade Show.
“Comey testified that he did the illegal leak that he did just so that he could get an independent prosecutor, and again he manipulated the system to get his very close buddy appointed as special prosecutor,” he continued.
Gohmert laid out the numerous examples of collusion between Mueller and Comey, and said no one feels safe to investigate them.
“Apparently Mueller, Comey, and this whole group apparently intimidates people so they’re afraid to say anything. It’s probably a combination of that and the fact that there are so many people that are so strongly entrenched against Trump that they feel like, ‘Hey, if we have to violate the law a little bit to get a President out of office that we think is hurting the country out of office, well so be it.’”
“This is not a good guy to be in charge,” Gohmert continued. “He needs to be investigated. I told Trump—this was like three months ago—‘you need to appoint an independent counsel to investigate Mueller, Comey, the Clintons, and Lynch.’ He said, ‘Can I do that?’ ‘You bet.’”
Gohmert called out the “dunces” in the Trump administration who would be opposed to this move.
“He needs to do it, and I’m sure you got dunces like McMaster that would be scared to death of that, but he needs to do it. We need to have this whole cabal thoroughly investigated.”
