‘An old white lady telling people what to do with their bodies? Shame on you …’
(Kaylee McGhee, Liberty Headlines) A Pennsylvania Democratic state representative harassed a woman who was praying outside a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic, calling her an “old white lady” and mocking her Christian beliefs.
For nearly 9 minutes, Rep. Brian Sims confronted and stalked the woman, who appeared to be in her 50s or 60s, outside Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, broadcasting the exchange on Twitter.
As she tried to walk away from him, Sims yelled at her and threatened to dox her, offering $100 to any Twitter user who could identify her name and address.
“If you know who this woman is, if you can give me her address, we’ll protest out in front of her home,” Sims said. “This is what they deserve.”
Push back against Planned Parenthood protestors, PLEASE! They prey on young women, they use white privilege, & shame. They’re racist, classist, bigots who NEED & DESERVE our righteous opposition. Push back, please! #YouAreStrongEnough https://t.co/rYQOiAhC0D

“Shame on you for hiding your face at the same time that you’re shaming other people,” Sims said. “… What you’re doing here is disgusting. This is wrong … Shame on you, ma’am, for standing out here thinking you know what’s right for other people’s bodies … An old white lady telling people what to do with their bodies? Shame on you … This is disgusting. This is shameful.”
Pennsylvania Democrats haven’t responded to Sims’s behavior, but the state’s GOP demanded an apology and Sims’s resignation.
“This is conduct that is certainly unacceptable and despicable coming from a state lawmaker,” said Jason Gottesman, communications director for the Republican Party of Pennsylvania, according to CBS21 News, a local CBS News affiliate.
Sims, who is gay, fired back on Twitter, accusing critics of bullying him.
