(Chuck Ross, Daily Caller News Foundation) Former Vice President Joe Biden claimed Tuesday that he would have “beat the hell out of” President Donald Trump if the pair were still in high school.
Biden issued the brash remarks at the University of Miami, where he was speaking as part of the “It’s on Us” campaign to fight sexual assault on college campuses.
“When a guy who ended up becoming our national leader said, ‘I can grab a woman anywhere and she likes it,’” Biden said, referring to comments Trump made in 2005 during a taping of the show “Access Hollywood.”
“They asked me if I’d like to debate this gentleman, and I said no. I said, ‘If we were in high school, I’d take him behind the gym and beat the hell out of him,’” Biden added.
“I’ve been in a lot of locker rooms my whole life. I’m a pretty damn good athlete,” he said. “Any guy that talked that way was usually the fattest, ugliest SOB in the room.”
Biden has issued a similar threat in the past.
“The press always asks me, don’t I wish I were debating him? No, I wish I were in high school. I could take him behind the gym. That’s what I wish,” he said at a rally for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in October 2016.
Biden’s remarks about Trump are in stark contrast to his comments about former President Bill Clinton, who has been accused of rape and sexual harassment by multiple women.
In an interview just before the 2016 election, Biden said he was unable to excuse Clinton’s past behavior, but he did offer a defense for the Democrat.
“I can’t make any excuses for Bill Clinton’s conduct, and I wouldn’t attempt to make any excuses for the conduct. But he paid the price for it. He paid a price, he was impeached. And he expressed his deep sorrow and acknowledged what he did,” Biden told NBC’s Chuck Todd.
“This guy, as I said, has acknowledged that he has been a sexual predator,” he said of Trump.
