‘They will not beat him at the ballot box and if they try to impeach him, they’re going to ensure his re-election…’
(Kaylee McGhee, Liberty Headlines) Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-SC, slammed special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into the Russian collusion hoax as a “political rectal exam,” calling it a waste of time and the taxpayers’ money.
Graham said the Democrats have tried to use Mueller’s report, which proved Trump didn’t collude with Russia, to begin impeachment proceedings, despite the lack of evidence that Trump participated in wrongdoing while in office.
“After two years of a political rectal exam, nobody’s been looked at more than Trump,” Graham told Fox News. “They found nothing. But the answer for the Democrats is ‘Trump’s gotta go.’”
“They will not beat him at the ballot box and if they try to impeach him, they’re going to ensure his re-election,” Graham continued. “I want the American people to know that Bob Mueller did his job.”
After Mueller determined that he was “unable” to say definitively whether Trump committed obstruction of justice, House Democrats opened a series of investigations into Trump’s campaign, businesses, and administration to try and prove it themselves.
Graham said the subpoenas are nothing more than “political revenge.”
Graham said the Democrats have fallen into an impeachment “hysteria.”
Democratic leadership has refused to act on calls for impeachment, but radical leftists in the House have only increased their demands as Trump officials continue to refuse to acknowledge their subpoenas.
“What people have realized is it’s not just everything detailed in [Mueller’s] report. It’s the administration’s continuing refusal to cooperate with Congress and attempt to continue to obstruct justice,” said Rep. Diana DeGette, D-Colo., who called for impeachment proceedings Tuesday.
“That’s why I think more and more people are frustrated, because we’ve never seen anything like this,” she said.
Contrary to DeGette’s claims, Trump’s Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, was widely criticized for her obstruction of several investigations, including efforts to conceal more than 30,000 e-mails by redirecting them to a private server.
Clinton then used BleachBit software to erase the servers after Congress instructed her campaign to preserve all evidence, while aides physically destroyed other devices with a hammer.
The Justice Department is currently investigating whether Obama-era officials in the intelligence community colluded with Clinton’s campaign to launch the debunked Russian conspiracy claims against Trump.
Many congressional Democrats have downplayed and dismissed those investigations while attempting to discredit Attorney General William Barr for his accusations of “spying.”
Graham, as chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has been one of the leading advocates in Congress for investigating the “other side.”
