Filed ‘legally and factually unsupported claims in court…’
(Daily Caller News Foundation) A California court ordered a prominent Antifa activist and teacher to pay thousands of dollars in damages to a former University of California, Berkeley student, according to a Friday report.
Yvette Felarca, a teacher at Martin Luther King Jr. middle school, must pay $11,000 in damages to Troy Worden, the former president of UC Berkeley College Republicans, reported Campus Reform.
The Superior Court of Alameda County issued the ruling after the dismissal of a restraining order filed by Felarca against Worden. Worden and lawyer Mark Meuser subsequently sued the teacher for attorney expenses and damages.
“Felarca and her fellow travelers in BAMN [By Any Means Necessary]/Antifa need to learn that the California courts are not their personal plaything to use and abuse at will by filing baseless and vexatious lawsuits,” said Harmeet Dhillon of Dhillon Law, the firm responsible for representing Worden, according to Campus Reform.
“This marks the second time in two months that Felarca and her lawyers have been ordered by an area court to pay the attorney fees of their opponents for filing legally and factually unsupported claims in court,” continued Dhillon. “True victims of harassment/stalking/assault need the courts to be available to them as a priority, not clogged with fabricated claims pursued in bad faith.”
Felarca has initiated force with Antifa against other activists and has even attempted to recruit her students to participate in protests:
