School’s ‘F**k Kavanaugh’ Sign Wasn’t Fake News After All

‘It turns out it was real…’

(Joshua Paladino, Liberty Headlines) The sign in front of South Charlotte Middle School read, “F*** Kavanaugh,” over the weekend.

By Monday night the vulgar message was gone, and the spokesman for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School (CMS) District in North Carolina, Tracy Russ, denied it was ever there, calling it “fake news,” The Charlotte Observer reported.

A.P. Dillon, a blogger at LadyLiberty1885, initially reported the sign after receiving multiple pictures of it and asked CMS if it knew about it.

On Tuesday morning, Oct. 9, Russ reassessed the incident and confirmed that the sign said, “F*** Kavanaugh.”

He said the school did not change the sign. Someone put up the message without the school’s permission.

“We thought it had been fake. It turns out it was real,” Russ said.

Russ said the message board should have been locked, but as soon as the principle learned about it, it was removed.

He said the school district did not know who put up the message, but that it is checking security tapes to identify a suspect.

“CMS messaging guidelines, board policies and codes of conduct forbid use of profanities in any communications. CMS is investigating this matter with law enforcement,” he told the Observer.

Dillon said CMS was “perhaps a bit too hasty” in calling “fake news,” especially since she had seen the picture from multiple sources.

“I think the citizens in the area and parents of children at that school would like to know how the sign was vandalized in the first place,” Dillon said.
