(Kaylee McGhee, Liberty Headlines) After she lied about Alabama’s new pro-life law, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., refused to admit her error and instead blamed Twitter’s limited word count for her deliberate falsehood.

Ocasio-Cortez took to Twitter to criticize Alabama’s law, which outlaws almost all abortions.

The law would only punish medical professionals who violate the law, but Ocasio-Cortez tried to claim that any woman who seeks an abortion would also be punished:

But when corrected, Ocasio-Cortez blamed Twitter for having limited space and refused to admit her error:

Ocasio-Cortez continued to double down, and claimed she meant that women who are “medical providers” would be subject to felony charges if they conducted abortions, and therefore, the law would punish women.
