In a move to show respect to all religions, a school district in Oregon has decided to ban religious-themed decorations in the classrooms during the holidays.

The decision, which was revealed on Tuesday, bans decorations with images such as Santa Claus, according to KATU.

The school district released a notice to staff:

“You may still decorate your door or office if you like, but we ask that you be respectful and sensitive to the diverse perspectives and beliefs of our community and refrain from using religious-themed decorations or images like Santa Claus.”

“It really went out as a notification to staff, not even parents, just to make sure they are being sensitive and thoughtful as they enter the holiday season,” said Beth Graser, communications director for Hillsboro School District.

As expected, some parents are not happy with the new rule and believe it’s unnecessary.

Is it not time to shut down the actions of the democommies and communist here in America? I know I’ve had enough of them!

    • boaz

Yes it is TIME! INTRODUCE SOME ONE TO CHRIST TODAY! other than saving a soul you may save countless lives!

      • ONLYJB1

Introduce a democommie? Are you kidding me? The first objective of the communist is to do away with religion and those involved! Their souls can’t be saved! They gave their souls to satan! They are hopeless.

        • boaz

IF they breath and have a heart beat… they can be saved…. even Muslims are coming to the Saving Knowledge and grace of Jesus Christ… so why not a democommie… it is a BIG adjustment for them and it takes time for them to come to grips afterward but still possible….

          • ONLYJB1

I’m sorry, it will never happen!

Hello fellow citizens. For over 22 years I was a Federal Civil Service Employee. I enjoyed the many Federal Holidays that we were off work and paid. One of those Federal Holidays takes place on December 25th each year. By the way, it is called “CHRISTMAS”.

    • Robert Thaler

For a thousand years, Christmas and Easter were a HOLYday, Just who drummed up the word holiday and when? And since when do we now equate divine holydays with civil ‘holidays’, for example, Presidents’ Day? Remember,”Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and give to God what is God’s?

      • Patti Peru

The point of what I said is that Christmas has always been a holiday recognized by our government so when Christmas carols can’t be sung in school and it is not “politically correct” to say “Merry Christmas” that is just wrong. As a national holiday, no one has the right to try and alter the way we celebrate it!

        • Robert Thaler

Yes, Patti, its sad when we were graced to have a Saviour born and now on His birthday we are ashamed to go against the trend and instead of saying, “Merry Christmas,” we say, “Happy holiday”. Sounds like Peter denying Christ.
          What will become of us?

          • Patti Peru

May the Lord’s Grace and Love surround you and yours. Merry Christmas Robert.

Politically correct is a bunch of garbage. Politics have no business telling us how we can worship. Take this joyful Merry Christmas away from not only our Children, but the Child that still lives inside of us. Why? Who does this benifit? What does it cost? A time of fun, love, magic. Wonderful memories. Why take this away? Time for Change, those who, decide how we live. Take away our traditions. We will no longer stand for it. Those parents need to stand up against this form of repression, protect their children from the happiness .
          being taken away from them

Nobody is stopping you from whatever religious traditions you want to share with your kids. That is the purpose of private religious schools which you have the option to have your kids attend.

          • Jan Kolacy

Your right of course, my children are grown, as my grandchildren. To me, in remembering, there was no anti religious schools. Public, and Catholic, all celebrated Christmas. Art teachers helped children draw candles, stainded windows to decorate class rooms. Christmas trees decorated with colored paper, chains and old Christmas cards, stars of David , Icicles! cut up using white paste and construction paper. Works of art. Was in all class rooms. The last day before vacation. Party, parents sending children to school with cookies and goodies to share. AND….a special present for the teacher. A truly joyous time. Religious affiliation had no ugly face. Christian Jewish , Jehovah Witness, all participated. When I went to school, It was a time of a prayer and flag salute every morning before we started school. Maybe we need to go back.. learn respect for others beliefs and our Stars and Stripes.

Nobody is trying to alter the way you celebrate Christmas. You can do whatever you want except in public schools where no particular religion should have influence. This isnt difficult to accept for those who understand the basics. Your use of the word “we” implies that you speak for all Christians. You definitely do not speak for those Christians who believe that respecting others by keeping schools free of religious influence does not infringe on their rights.

Oregon schools are joining the other left coast leftists in banning Christmas, Christians and and most world religions in the name of not offending anyone. This is America and it was founded on Christian beliefs, so if you dont want to celebrate-thats fine, but the rest of us will celebrate and you can be offended and get the heck out of America. We dont need your kind here. PERIOD……

    • efsacramento

You dont speak for many Americans. Obviously, you don’t understand American values like sep of church and state. This is reason private schools exist. I attended private religious schools and fully support keeping public education free from any and all religious control. To agree with me might be impossible for those right wing so-called Christians who lack empathy for non-Christians and the numerous other groups they dislike.

      • 23cowboy

EF, you poor little brainwashed leftie. America was founded on Christian beliefs. The great separation of church and state is just another lefty lie that was born during the crazy 1960’s. It is nowhere in the constitution but just a BS statement from the left and communists. Way too many schools vote to ban religion, but oddly enough if you are Muslim then that’s an ok religion, or if you are Wica or you want to worship mud, then that’s ok. Poor child, one day you will find out the real truth, but then it will be too late. Poor baby.

    CALL the ACLJ!

  • Flyby1

Christian’s are being prosecuted all over the world. But here in America where are boys have fought for freedoms we’re being ousted from schools, manger scenes from public places, and every islamic celebration or customs are being catered to in defense of their religious freedom. I for one am damn sick of our politicians cow towing to the same people that claim thay have the right to take our property, our women, whatever they want. Even our lives unless we choose allah over our true savior Jesus Christ.

  • Jan Kolacy

Trump is bringing Merry Christmas back to America. This school is out of line. Christmas is a holiday. We celebrate it joyfully. To take this away from Children is a big mistake. The person responsible should be fired. The parents need to protest A beautiful part of their lives is being taken away from them. For what? Punishment for being Christian? Stop this now .

  • Jackie

The ACLU and the people they represent are made up of Doubting Thomases so what can anyone expect other than negative output from them. They will repent one day but it may be too late. So sad that all they try to do is make people’s lives sadder without CHRIST in Christmas, or taking the CROSS away. God has a way of making things right and rectifying wicked ways.
