‘Madam President’ Newsweek copies sell for $10,000

johnhain / Pixabay(THE HILL) — They were supposed to be destroyed, but copies of Newsweek featuring a beaming Hillary Clinton under the headline “Madam President” are being hawked online for as much as $10,000.

The magazine produced copies of both a Clinton cover and one with President-elect -Donald Trump ahead of the election. But, according to CNN, only the Clinton versions of the commemorative special editions actually went to press ahead of Election Day.

Topix Media Lab, which produced the $10.99 special edition mags under the Newsweek brand, “made a business decision to print the Clinton version ahead of time given that she is almost universally favored to win the election” according to CNN. The cable network reported earlier this month, “If Trump wins, the Clinton copies will be trashed and the Trump version will be rushed to the printing presses — a simple business calculation.”

Who would pay more than the cover price for a magazine that is not the truth! They are always full of crap!

    • Ron Warren

It’s the collector item value of the printing that makes them valuable. Remember the “Dewey” newspaper headline when Harry Truman won?
Some people collect art, automobiles, coins, stamps, old bottles or whatever. This magazine goof is really a “winner” even though the subject lost terribly…and thank heavens for that!

      • Askjrsk

        As an embarrassment.

    • Askjrsk

      Crap sells.

  • Geebub

Got a little ahead of themselves. Pretty arrogant. Why would anyone waste their $$$$$ on that?

    • Ron Warren

Not necessarily a waste Geebub. A few years from now that magazine might bring $50,000 to $100,000 as a rare item. Not bad!

    • bill14224

I paid $258 for a copy a few weeks ago. I expect its value to go nowhere but up, not that I bought it for an investment. I bought it because I wanted one!

      • Askjrsk

Lucky you. I’d prefer a foto of Adolf Hitler or Joseph Stalin or Fidel Castro personally.

    • Askjrsk

That is so very right. What pervert would want a picture of the loser CLINTONS? Time-Warner and ATT wants to hook up with that mess?

  • Brent

LOL…sets up for a good Twilight Zone episode.

This post will cost Newsweek many sales in the future! I will never buy another copy!

  • Carson Randolph

Newsweek represents the arrogance of the media and it is wrapped up with this over confident smug companies blunder. I still get a kick out of watching youtube vids of election night meltdowns. All those months of the smug suckers blather party and watching them lose and still losing made it all worth while. All of them… good for a grin every time.

    I’m laughing………..I’m laughing some more………

Egg on NOT QUITE SURE WHAT TIME IT IS.

  • Jeff Z

I prefer the upside down airplane stamp.

At least that one was an HONEST mistake.

    • Askjrsk

      Good.

  • bill14224

This story is wishful thinking. Copies are going on eBay for between $150 – $250. An auction just ended minutes ago, sale price $174.50.

    • Askjrsk

Only good to wrap fish in.

      • Ron Warren

Then contaminate the fish. Better use plastic wrap or special paper used by meat markets. Whatever!

        • Askjrsk

Drinking water? I’m sorry slipped my mind how toxic HILLARY CLINTON is.

          • Ron Warren

Thank you Askjrsk. She does seem that way per writings of Secret Service agents and others who have worker around her. But now Bill will have to put up with her at home. Sorry Slicky. Your cackling hen has come home to roost.

          • Askjrsk

Makes you almost feel sorry for him. Almost. Sorry suckers that they are.

          • Ron Warren

The really sad thing about them and Obama is that there are people in this nation who voted for them. Like some requesting that swine feces be added to the punch bowl.

          • Askjrsk

Like the old real deal dementia laden lady, typical democrat angry hostile and propagating FALSE NARRATIVES and FAKE NEWS . Finger point and insults name call so HILLARY and she can’t figure out why they lost. Brain dead.

          • Askjrsk

Please read some of the inane banal posts from “real deal” had to block her.

  • bill14224

It’s not about Hillary. It’s about the smug media’s comeuppance.

  • bill14224

And yes, an original copy of Dewey defeats Truman in good shape will bring a couple thousand dollars today on eBay.

  • Askjrsk

Frankly, they aren’t worth a dime. If this represents a safe place for the crooked criminal HILLARY then it will work until she gets a safe padded cell. Fantasy fabricated of FALSE NARRATIVES and FAKE NEWS, all documented in this blindsided cover by the most unprofessional mass media.

  • Askjrsk

No and support the losers Time-Warner?

  • kev

    Damn!

  • Matthew Adams

This is to funny, not only did Hillary lose the presidential election, but liberals are willing to pay $10,000 for fake news. You just can not make this stuff up! LMAO lol lol lol
