ECO-TERROR: Bullets Shatter Windows Next To Prominent Global Warming Skeptic’s Office

(Daily Caller News Foundation) Shots were fired at the fourth floor of a science and technology center at the University of Alabama-Huntsville sometime over the weekend, hitting windows adjacent to climatologist John Christy’s office.

No one was hurt, and university police have characterized the event as a “random shooting,” UAH spokesman Ray Garner told WHNT News. Police found “seven spent Belgian 5.7 millimeter bullet casings along Sparkman Drive” near the National Space Science and Technology Center, WHNT reported.

“My office was not hit, but the one next door and then further north had bullet impacts on the windows,” Christy told The Daily Caller News Foundation.

“Appears to be a drive-by from the trajectories from the street parallel to the building,” Christy added.

Three bullets hit windows, while four hit the side of the National Space Science and Technology Center. An incident report was filed after building staff discovered shards of glass Monday morning.

Christy is a well-respected climatologist who’s spent decades using satellites to measure global temperatures. He is considered a skeptic of man-made global warming, and environmentalists and left-leaning scientists have attacked him for challenging the credibility of climate models.

Christy’s research has shown climate models massively over-predicted global warming, and he’s also done extensive research into flaws with surface-based temperature readings from weather stations.

While police say the shooting looks to be random, Christy’s colleague, Dr. Roy Spencer, said it’s “more than coincidence” that shots were fired around Earth Day.

“Given that this was Earth Day weekend, with a March for Science passing right past our building on Saturday afternoon, I think this is more than coincidence,” wrote Spencer.

“When some people cannot argue facts, they resort to violence to get their way,” Spencer wrote in his blog. “It doesn’t matter that we don’t ‘deny global warming;’ the fact we disagree with its seriousness and the level of human involvement in warming is enough to send some radicals into a tizzy.”

“Our street is fairly quiet, so I doubt the shots were fired during Saturday’s march here. It was probably late night Saturday or Sunday for the shooter to have a chance of being unnoticed,” Spencer noted.

Garner did not respond to TheDCNF’s request for comment.

Rabid environmentalism was founded by Communists, after witnessing the incredible industrial might that the U.S. had during WWII. They hijacked the movement to clean up the damage done to our environment-most of which was done during the hectic, non-stop manufacturing during WWII. They realized that by harassing and strangling U.S. Industry, we’d lose our independent ability to fight.

    • While they turned their own countries into polluted hell-holes…

    • Jose Santander

The Government used the money to wage war instead of investing. Now, with high prices on Health, Education and failing infrastructure merchants go overseas.

    • midogman

indeed, many environmentalist groups were funded by the Soviet Union or their supporters at first. after all, all’s fair in love and war.

  • herb portere

Find and jail these fundamentalist scumbags, they do not belong in a civilized America!

  • Lizard

People that believe Global warming are nerds .. and Gold diggers

    • FEDUP CONSERVATIVE

The problem is that they are not finding any GOLD!!!!!
      HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Frederick Douglass

The left always has used violence to get its way.

    • Gym

They use violence, I used fumes. For the 2nd year in a row on earth day, I brought out every machine I have and started them up. I brought out the lawnmower, snowthrower, gas edger, string trimmer, generator, I even brought out my 7 1/2 h.p. Evinrude which I ran in a 55 gallon drum I have. Certain machines have adjustable mixture screws so I could richen the mixture up and make them smoke black. Happy earth day pfhaggots.

      • magno et malo lupo

If they were all they claim to be for the environment then EVERY day should be “earth day not just one day a year

      • wiltedrosemarybush

Wish I’d thought of that! I would have fired up my coal forge and pounded out a dagger or sword in my smithy! I’ll keep that in mind for next year!

        • Christian Bentley

There is nothing written in the constitution of our great country what allows the citizen to have that kind of low mental stage what you and your friend Mr.Gym have…What a shame for America to harbor such IDIOTS!

          • wiltedrosemarybush

I’m not sure if I should be offended, or simply marvel at your ability to put words together. I bet you’re mouthing the words as you read this…

For starters the Constitution says nothing one way or the other about a citizen’s intelligence. Go ahead – read it. It’s only about 4,400 words, after all. Even a sub-human mental defective such as yourself ought to be able to manage this. And what, pray tell, is a “low mental stage”? I find that rich, coming from someone whom I could spot 50 points to on an IQ test and still beat hands down…

Regarding the absurd myth of “Anthropomorphic Climate Change” it has already been thoroughly discredited. Climategate alone should have been enough to convince any thinking person that these “scientists” are pathological liars. The endless predictions of doom and gloom regarding “Global Warming” have NEVER come true! Consider the following:

            * In 2004, Chief Druid of the United States, Al Gore, predicted, in front of a German audience, that the “…North Polar Ice Cap would be completely ice free in five years” and that “the entire North ‘polarized’ [sic] cap will disappear in 5 years.” Note that the “North Polar Ice Cap” is still there, Chris…

            * When 2009 rolled around, with the Arctic as ice covered as ever, Al Gore then stated that, “Some of the models suggest that there is a 75 percent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during some of the summer months, could be completely ice-free within the next five to seven years.” Well, it has been 8 years, and it still isn’t close to “ice-free.”

As laughably stupid as Algore is, it gets even better:

            * The San Jose Mercury News reported on June 30, 1989 that “senior environmental official at the United Nations, Noel Brown, says entire nations could be wiped off the face of the earth by rising sea levels if global warming is not reversed by the year 2000.” 28 years hence, we haven’t done squat about “Global Warming” and yet we are still here.

            * Rajendra Pachauri, the former head of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change said in 2007 that, “If we don’t make changes within the next 3 years it will be too late”. Well, it’s 2017 and we’re still here…

            * In 2009, UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown said, “There are only 50 days to take action or global warming would be irreversible.” It is well past those 50 days, so I guess since it is “irreversible” there is no point in taking any further action, is there?

And so forth. So, you think Gym and I are the idiots? How precious. Suggest looking in the mirror if you want to see what an ACTUAL idiot looks like…

Going beyond this endless parade of failed predictions, there is no such thing as “settled science.” The whole notion is guano loco on its face. By definition, science is “…is a systematic enterprise that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of testable explanations and predictions about the universe.” In other words, it’s an ongoing process, not a destination. And so far, every explanation and prediction made about our climate has been proven wrong. Not a single model has accurately predicted anything.

Speaking of science, what is your education background? I have a degree in Aerospace Engineering. How about you? I’ve actually read some of these papers regarding “climate change” and can understand them (along with what is wrong with them). Can you? I’ll wager a sack full ‘o Krugerrands that you couldn’t read them anymore than you can read Sanskrit…

Well, since you’re such an “expert” on these matters, perhaps you can answer a few simple questions for me:

            1) The constant assertion being made is that the Earth is “too hot.” Can you tell me, to within +/- 0.1 degree Celsius, what the ideal average temperature of the Earth is supposed to be? Show your work.

            2) To attain this ideal temperature, how many metric tonnes of CO2 (to within +/- 1.0%) must be removed from the atmosphere? Again, show your work.

            3) During the Mesozoic Era (the “Age of the Dinosaurs”) there were no polar ice caps. Dinosaurs and some plants actually lived in the polar regions of the Earth. If the melting of the ice caps is such an impending catastrophe, how did the dinosaurs survive for scores of millions of years under conditions of no permanent ice caps?

            4) Related to the last question, during the Cretaceous period in particular, CO2 levels were much higher than present. Why did this not cause the destruction of the Earth’s biosphere? Explain.

            5) During the Medieval Warm Period from c. 950-1250 A.D. the climate was noticeably warmer than today, featuring longer growing seasons and a largely ice free North Atlantic that, among other things, permitted the Norse colonization of both Iceland and Greenland. This period is considered to have been a “climatic optimum” by scientists and archeologists since various civilizations thrived under these conditions. Conversely, with the onset of the Little Ice Age (c. 1300-1850) temperatures dropped significantly, not only causing significant population decline, but even leading the extinction of the Greenland colony. Why is it that humanity thrived during a period of warming, but declined during cooling? Explain.

If you can’t answer these very simple questions then please just Sit the F*** Down and Shut the F*** Up about a subject you plainly know nothing about.

      • Christian Bentley

Those fumes you created did some serious damage to your brain, thats for sure…

  • Jmanjo

See. That’s the only way the damn liberals know how to win arguments is to hurt someone because their arguments point of view are not viable. Global warming is a farce and they know it. The documentaries they make to show their side are all bogus and made up. What do they think we will believe. Collect tax money and mail it to the sun so it will stop heating us up! They are all jackasses.

  • kassa1

The elitist/communist or fully engaged as they will stop at nothing to enslave the 99%. It will only happen people if we stand by and let it.

  • JerrySupportsIsreal

If the shooters were dumb enough to leave their brass laying around, than there is a high possibility that their finger prints where not wiped off the brass. If we can get a bio metric evidence from a IED in Afghanistan or Iraq on the bomb makes and placers, than a finger print from the brass should not be a problem to recover. But that might be too much for our people to think of, or want too explore.

    • wiltedrosemarybush

My thoughts exactly. I have a feeling the libturd that did this lacks the brains to wipe brass, if he’s leaving the casings and shooting the wrong d&mn window… And using such a relatively uncommon round/weapon would make it fairly easy to narrow down suspects, since I bet it got the weapon through a regular gun store and background check, paperwork, etc.

      • JerrySupportsIsreal

Yep, that is if the law is willing to investigate this possible act of terror. With the way the law is brushing the hostile acts of the left and the Muslims under the rug now a days. I would not bet they are going to find the perpetrators.

        • Deborah Pratt

Can’t find what you’re forbidden to ‘look’ for!!

          • JerrySupportsIsreal

Yep. John Edwards may have been correct. There are two Americas. Unfortunately the people that are most supportive of the rule of law and that practice the golden rule are becoming the second class of citizenry in the U.S.A.

      I prefer Demorrhoids

  • The weapons that take the 5.7 are a little high-dollar for street fighters. Hmmmmm…

    • Gym

Yes, like my FN. the ammo isn’t cheap either. Not something the average Trayvon would use; too sophisticated for them.

    • magno et malo lupo

Not really they are about as expensive as any good handgun 5.7x28MM F/N Fabrique Nationale is a hot .22 round a little hotter than the .22 Magnum but not as powerful the 9MM

      • Tequilaromeo

5.7 x 28 – fastest muzzle velocity pistol in the world.

        • magno et malo lupo

So what light bullet Why do you suppose the S&W .500 Mag was invented??? Most often it’s the mass not the velocity that does the real damage That 5.7×28 round is easily defeated by little more than a single layer of Kevlar where as a 300+gr slug @ 1400fps well you do the math The article stated the windows were hit but didn’t report any damage a simple 9MM would have shattered them

          • Tequilaromeo

You may wish to better inform yourself regarding the 5.7 round. It is known by other terms, and it’s kevlar penetration is amazing.

          • magno et malo lupo

I have been around firearms longer than you have been alive I have seen and shot more weapons that you know of

I am an engineer by trade and as such my studies included physics which laws have been set since day one.

If conditions are right I can pass a needle through a one in slab (25.4MM) of steel the problem is getting these conditions set in the proper order

Sure the 5.7 (0.224409 in) bullet will pierce Kevlar at a set distance and angle (ideal conditions) BUT would you want to trust your life on something less than ideal??? This combat veteran certainly wouldn’t

Personally I prefer to have as much distance between me and any potential threat as possible and still be able to effectively neutralize the threat.

That’s just me, but if you like to try and protect you and your loved ones with a .22 that is your business

          • Tequilaromeo

Your first sentence was an insight to your stupidity.

          • magno et malo lupo

Is it really?? My first introduction to firearm was in 1939. Would you like to reassess your statement???

          • Tequilaromeo

Sure! It just makes you older than I. Don’t get your diaper in a bunch. I prefer the .308 for my distance work, and a good old 70 series Colt Commander for the close and personal matters. Lt.Col Sir!

          • magno et malo lupo

You are the one who needs diapers my friend and I would suggest laying off the pejoratives lest you want a taste of what I can bring to bear on you. I can assure you I have a pedigree you couldn’t equal

As for weaponry; I prefer my .338 Lapua for distance and my .40 S&W for up close and personal work

          • Tequilaromeo

Pedigree is only that. Experience in action another. Equal…no.Overcome-Yes.

          • Tequilaromeo

Oh yes,and I do Bear hunt with a bow.

          • magno et malo lupo

You obviously don’t have the foggiest as to what constitutes a pedigree

  • To kill this conspiracy and Climate change for ever they have to pass a law that no individual, USA citizen or entity (except the EPA) can profit from trading energy or carbon tax credits.

Al Gore, Obama, Maurice Strong, and whoever in Congress [bribed with] owns stock in CCX stands to cash in on $Trillions if they can pass enforceable Cap and Trade legislation. Barack Obama was a board member on the Joyce Foundation, which funded the formation of the CCX in 2001. Valerie Jarrett, Obama’s top advisor remains on the Joyce Foundation board.

    • Gym

She was also one of the owners of CCX. Along with rahmbo emanuel. Soros has some funding cash in there too.

  • JWB

Might be time for Mr. Christy to consider, if he doesn’t already, carrying a firearm for personal protection and that of his family. The smell of big/easy money always seems to bring out the worst in people.

    • JerrySupportsIsreal

And get insurance for the after shot. ACCA is a good place to start.

  • Gym

Oh, I don’t think it was so ‘random.’ Sounds like something a peace loving liberal might conjure up. An anti gun liberal.

    • independent thinker

Liberals are not anti gun. They are just anti you and me having guns. They plan to keep theirs thank you.

Mo Money, Mo Money, Mo Money!!!

The Global warming foolishness needs to be exposed for what it is, False Science and the Environmentalists are turning into Eco-Terrorists.

  • magno et malo lupo

I have conducted extensive research and have observed what motivates liberals to adopt and their attempts to implement their agenda. Most people or those who do not know, especially young people, I am compelled to inform you of the generally un-known truth that the word “Liberal” has a proud heritage and was originally a word that described men who were the political opposites of modern “Liberals.”
The word “Liberal” was forcibly stolen and corrupted by evil men who intentionally perverted the use and meaning of the word. In the long forgotten past, the word “Liberal” described honorable and principled men who held to a philosophy of government that advocated Constitutional Republicanism. Constitutional Republicanism is a type of government almost unknown to most of the world. America was originally a Constitutional Republic. A Constitutional Republic defined is characterized by a very small government with limits on its powers of taxation and whose other powers are strictly limited by rigorously enforced Constitutional edicts. But modern Liberals are nothing more and nothing less than Communists, Socialists and Dictators. Modern Liberals promote, advocate and enforce the centralization of all political power into an all powerful central government. The honorable old Liberals of the 19th century must be spinning in their graves over the outrageous corruption and modern use of the word “Liberal.”

    • Bernie

      Mango,
      You are absolutely right.
I have been saying for a long time, today’s American liberal is not really liberal.
      They’re phonies!

      • Deborah Pratt

Spell that ‘Hypocrite’—since they ‘preach’ one thing and ‘do’ the exact opposite!!! Their latest ‘classic’ order was given during the campaigns when they were confident that Hillary Clinton would win the presidency!! ‘When she ‘won’–(we were instructed), ‘we want a ‘peaceful’ transition of power’!!! When she actually ‘lost’—those ‘orders’ went right out the window!!! Guess it didn’t apply to ‘them’!! Ahem!

        • Bernie

          Deb,
          Like I said, “They’re phonies”!

      • Sky

        they are leftists

  • needful

you wouldn’t want a little thing like facts tp get in the way.

  • wiltedrosemarybush

5.7mm? That’s pretty exotic – should be somewhat easy to track down assuming they went through a dealer (they may not have, of course). Only a couple of guns I can think of that fire that, unless there are 5,7 uppers for AR platforms out there.

  • spike

So to comment on the man himself – he studies what has actually happened in scientific research and the results make him skeptical of the bandwagon climate change phenom as opposed to the climate change folks pointing out that computer models made up by scientist “predict” what they think will happen, but oh, no it hasn’t yet. At that point they tweak the figures that don’t agree with their model and call that “proven science”. And I suppose the only reason a “respected” scientist would go along with that is the big bucks grant money that countries seem all too anxious to pour in.

    • JerrySupportsIsreal

      Yes Sir. You got it.

  • Rodney Steward

This is my state, and you have to know some of these places, most are like Chicago, bunch of black gangs and killings all the time!

  • Kenneth Huebner

Well we know one thing for sure, with the University of Alabama’s so called police department immediately calling this shooting a random event before even investigating, there is no doubt on which side this very liberal university stands. Global warming for sure no matter what the facts are and Al Gore is their leader. Got to be a politically correct university; I use this term loosely.

  • John

I wonder if the bulliets were made from recycled material and if they were thrown, because NO self respecting lib would EVER own a gun

The leftist pundits and politicians always claim to have “science” on their side until the true science disagrees with their dogma, then the scientists who report the results are labeled as “deniers”.

I’m sure the libs are responsible for this. I believe that this will come out and those who are involved in this crime will be exposed and arrested. It’s the matter of God’s will, His perfect timing. Just like obama, hillary, holden, lynn, rice and many more….their treasonous deeds are already been exposed.
